French Bulldog World is a privately owned website. Registration to French Bulldog World is completely free and will enable you to participate in discussions with hundreds of other Frenchies lovers! In order to keep the site running well and to prevent problems, we do insist that you abide by the rules and guidelines detailed below. We have a very nice community and we want to make sure it stays that way. Please do not abuse your privilege of being a member here: people who do so will be removed. These boards are for people to find others who share their interest and love of French bulldogs and to gain information and make educated decisions about their pets. By requesting membership, you declare that you are over the age of 16. We do not allow people under the age of 16 to join this community.

Forums

Considering the real-time nature of this board, it is impossible for us to review all messages or confirm the validity of information posted. Please remember that we do not actively monitor all the content of posted messages and are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message.

Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by clicking the "Report Post" icon next to the objectionable message. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this board to post any material or links to any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. Although French Bulldog World does not and cannot review all the messages posted and is not responsible for the content of any of these messages, we at French Bulldog World reserve the right to delete, edit, move or close any message or to remove any member for any or no reason whatsoever. A username is personal and can not be given or transfered. All messages express the views of the author, and neither the moderators nor owners of Frenchbulldogworld.com forums or Jelsoft Enterprises Limited (developers of this forum) will be held responsible for the content of any message.

We at this French Bulldog World board also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you. IPs of all posters are logged and kept for that purpose.

Members who do not respect the rules and guidelines are unsubscribed without warning as they have read and agreed to these conditions when registering to the site.

Discussion is welcome - flaming and personal attacks are not permitted. Members should not use the board to generate arguments. Arguments that get out of hand will be stopped by the moderators and members can be banned at any time by the moderators if there continues to be a problem. Enforcement of the rules and guidelines on Frenchbulldogworld are the sole responsibility of the moderators. If you feel a member has violated the rules, express your concerns to the moderators, not to the member whose behavior seems inappropriate to you and never to the entire board. The moderators can be contacted by clicking the 'report post' button or by posting in the Contact Moderators forum (note that this is a fully moderated forum and your thread requires approval before it will be displayed).

Please note that the following topics or behaviours are inappropriate on this site:

• Posting "Need urgent advice" messages if you suspect that your French bulldog may be sick. Instead, you should contact immediately your vet for a qualified diagnosis and treatment. No online advice can replace your vet.
  
• Advertisements: we do not allow people to post threads or to send private messages or emails to members here that advertise any products or services, whether dog related or not. Advertising or looking for dogs for stud or brood, for puppies for sale etc are forbidden.
  
• Crosspostings: do not post the same thread more than once on a discussion forum or on many forums. Duplicate threads are very annoying for members, especially for those whose time is limited. Duplicate threads will be deleted and reposting the same message after the threads were closed or deleted could result in the loss of your FBW membership.
• Chain letters & pyramid schemes.
  
• Discussion of devices or practices that cause electricity to run through a dog. This includes shock collars and electronic fencing.
  
• Discussion of deliberate use of devices or practices that cause or have the potential to cause physical trauma to a dog. Frenchbulldogworld does recognise that people do have genuine questions regarding training tools (choke chains, prong collars, mousetraps etc) and methods, but we support and promote wholeheartedly positive training and behaviour management, that is, teaching the dog what to do by using positive methods, not teaching a dog what not to do by causing it discomfort and pain. Any threads which appear to promote "negative" training and methods will be closed.
  
• Discussion of breeding practices that would be deemed by most to be unethical or irresponsible. This includes, but is not limited to: breeding young dogs; breeding untested dogs; breeding dogs of colours not recognised by the breed standard; breeding for any purpose other than to improve the breed and/or your line). If you wish to post about your breeding program on this site, you need to be prepared to provide evidence of the health testing undertaken.
  
• References to other French bulldog boards/lists/communities or to breeders sites is forbidden. Only breeders doing health tests and participating on FBW can mention their site and/or breeding program on the board". Post your request to the Contact Moderators forum if you fit these conditions and only after approval you are authorized to post your link.
  
• Back yard breeders and commercial breeders are not welcome. You can check the article at http://www.frenchbulldogworld.com/fo...rdbreeders.htm to see who they are.
  
• Solicitations: this includes, but is not limited to: advertising or promotion of litters; sale of pets; and puppy inquiries like "I am looking for a puppy. Any good breeders in California?".
  
• If there is no approved breeder in your country or state participating on French Bulldog World, please contact your local French bulldog club. We do not allow users to promote breeders on the site.
  
• You may not ask for donations or otherwise promote fundraising activities on this site. Exceptions may be made, on a case-by-case basis for approved rescue groups with not-for-profit status. Authorised representatives of those groups may send requests for authorisation to the moderators in the Contact Moderators forum .
  
• Political, religious, moral or military-related topics are not allowed: this is an international community and there are other sites for that kind of topics.
  
• Do not post private messages on the whole board like "To XYZ: I forgot your email address, can you please email me?". Do not contact moderators to get a member's email address if he/she disabled this feature in the profile. Note: there is no private messaging system between members activated on this site.
  
• Do not post messages directed to or enquiring about other members. Members are free to visit or not visit the board as they choose, and their privacy will be respected.
  
• Do not post private/personal information: keep personal information personal. Please do not post name, email address or phone number when you write a message, even if it is yours. There is no way for us to check if the phone number is yours and we do not have the time to look at your profile to check if the email address you posted is yours.
  
• Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts.
  
• Constant "venting" about personal problems and requests for psychological help are not appropriate on Frenchbulldogworld. There are other sites for that sort of thing. See above about meaningless posts.
  
• Try to be as specific in your questions as possible. Vague questions will receive vague responses. The title of the thread has to be specific and short. "Important, please read" topics will be deleted.
  
• If you have a new question, please start a new thread. Do not append your questions to someone else's thread.
  
• Please post "updates" to the original thread, do not start another one. Having to search for the original thread to understand the context of the update is very annoying for other members.
  
• Post your thread to the correct forum. At http://www.frenchbulldogworld.com/forums you can read the description below each forum. When people do a search, we want them to be able to find relevant information, which is why there are different categories of forums. Members who continually post in inappropriate forums will have their membership revoked. If you wish to post a message that does not fit into any other forum, or just want to chat, please post in the Chit Chat forum.

Rescue forums

French Bulldog World is not a classified advertising service. You cannot sell dogs on this site. If you have a French bulldog for adoption, please contact your local French bulldog rescue. Links to dogs available for adoption may be posted in the adoptions forum. Do not post private contact information here (see board rules above) - members who do so will be removed.

Only approved rescue groups with not-for-profit status and participating on FBW can mention their rescue group/site on the board. Post your query and rescue information to the moderators in the Contact Moderators forum if you think your rescue group fits these conditions and only after approval you are authorized to post your link.

Registration

Avatars (small images that appear below members' user names) can be included in your user profile. These images must be 64 by 64 pixels or less and be under 9000 bytes in size. Avatars fall under the same guidelines as printed text and must comply with these guidelines.

Free/anonymous email addresses are not accepted. Members profiles and email addresses are checked manually before approval. You will be able to post only once you click the link in the email you recieve confirming that your account has been validated. If you do not provide a valid email address, you will not receive your email and will be unable to complete the registration and to participate on the site. Usually new registrations are validated within a few days. Please keep your email updated in your profile and do not use an autoresponder: in case of bounced emails, your account will be deleted. Please check that any spam filters will accept email from .

Location field: Please include at least the country. Frenchbulldogworld is an international community and locations such as "az" or "NYC" are not relevant/meaningful to all members. Country information may also be useful in the provision of accurate or relevant advice to members' questions (eg. relevant standard, law or appropriate health testing).

Introductions: French Bulldog World is a friendly community and all new members should introduce themselves in the "introduction" forum upon acceptance of their registration and before participating in other forums or galleries. Do not post questions here: post them in a separate thread in the forum most appropriate to the topic.

Signatures:

Signatures are limited to a maximum of 120 characters and 4 lines maximum (space between lines included). Please do not use large fonts and bright colours as these are annoying to other members. The forum rules apply to signature content, so do not advertise or post affliation links or links to commercial websites here.

Private messaging system:

The private messaging system is disabled, due to the behaviour of some members who could not respect the rules and who attempted to organise troubles on the board.

Picture galleries

This service is intended to allow FBW members to display photos of their boxers so they can share their opinions about them. You may not use it as a photo hosting service for displaying pictures on other web sites.

The forums rules and guidelines apply to the pictures galleries when you post comments below the photos or when you write a description of the photo you want to upload.

Upload your own photos. Do not upload images you take from other web sites.

Please post photos of French bulldogs in the appropriate categories and never in "members". Any photo uploaded to the members gallery or wrong category will be deleted. All photos you upload in the appropriate category will also appear in your own gallery. Photos of bulldog mix dogs should be uploaded to the "other pets" category (we do not want people unfamiliar with the French bulldog breed to become confused). All photos uploaded are manually approved and this may take some time.

Photos that are not good enough, badly cropped (white frame visible because the pictures were not resized when scanned) or too small will be rejected. The best size for uploading the pictures is 640x480 pixels in .jpg format and must be less than 100 kb; the minimum size is 200x200 pixels. Filenames must begin with a letter and should be short. Please visit the Help section before uploading photos for more information and instructions.

We reserve the right to delete comments/descriptions, to rename or to reorganize categories, or to remove photos for any reason without notice. Most often this is done to enhance the operation of our site, or to make room for new materials. If a user uploads something of questionable legality or taste, it will be removed.

Users agree to accept all liability for the legality of content they submit and will not hold French Bulldog World responsible for any damages that result.

Always keep a backup of the pictures you upload as there is no guarantee of permanence.
