View Full Version : Who does your doggie love?

I am amazed and sometimes perplexed at who my doggies are attracted to and why. Ripley (Standard Poodle) seems to prefer females. He goes absolutely nuts over my niece who he has only seen a few times each year. She is really more a cat person but Ripley loves her dearly and smashes his head into her lap whenever she is around. Abby (Frenchie) prefers small children. This is really a mistery to me, since she was raised with no children in our home. Whenever my nephews and nieces come to visit, she will slam them onto the ground and cover them with kisses. I don't understand her infatuation but I love that she loves them. Ferris seems to have no gender preference. He loves everybody. Whenever we have guests, he gets a stuffed toy into his mouth and parades around just looking for attention. He will jump into their lap and smash the toy into their face. I find it interesting that they all have their preferences.

Madison loves anyone who will feed him or play with him. He has different needs from different people. He loves my dad & wants my dad to hold him & pet him. He loves my husband & wants play & pay attention to him. He loves me, but wants to play differently with me than he does with my husband. He loves my grandson's & seems to know that he needs to be gentle with them. He loves people to play with his little bed. He has a growling game he likes to play & anyone who wants to play this game with him is his friend.

All my doggies (Boxers & a crossbreed) love children :) They do not seem to show a gender preference, they like the people who will give them the most attention :p
The oldest girls, Layla and Bella, must have some Cat in them somewhere as they seem to be most attracted to people who do not like dogs - especially Bella :o

Figo is an absolutely amazing dog by the standards of all the other dogs I have ever had. He truly loves everyone. Everyone one regardless of age, race, gender, etc. becomes his friend. Hard to even tell if he has any favorites. Sometimes I think he's a flirt with the ladies, other times he seems to prefer the guys who play rough. All I know is he has the most wonderful loving nature which makes it all the easier to love him.

AWWW, you made our day Carolyn. Figo would blush, but he already thinks that everyone loves him (he really does!). Had really wanted an English Bulldog myself, but I'm glad Rita made me change my mind. Figo has been the best dog I have ever known. He's quite cute if a bit skinny, but boy does he ver have a lot of love to give!

It's funny how these dogs make their way into our lives. I had also considered an English Bull (have always loved this breed) and also a Boxer. Jim and my brother (veterinarian) steared me toward the Frenchie and I couldn't ask for a better friend than Abby and Ferris. This breed is notorious for stealing your heart away. :) I was a wee bit nervous about getting a second but I soon discovered how grateful Abby was to have one of her own join our happy home. Two definitely makes for an interesting household! :p Our evenings would be quite dull without the nightly bullying that goes on. Hugs and kisses to Figo.
