So, I think that Oscar is now allergic to Natural Balance Duck and Potato. I tried to get the venison and brown rice, but they can't import it into Korea as it is composed of a ruminent product.
I need another good quality non-poultry based food. Has anyone had any luck with other lamb or beef based foods. Has anyone fed their FBs beef at all before? I have limited access here, but I want to get a good quality food.
There is also a fish and sweet potato available from Natural Balance. Has anyone had good luck feeding fish (salmon) to their FBs?
I am also looking for California Natural Lamb and Rice (from Natura), but I suspect I won't find it.
Your help is appreciated.

Lamb is generally a better option for dogs with allergies to meat proteins than beef is. It's not always the case, of course, but beef is a meat source that figures quite highly in allergy stats. Doesn't mean that it will necessarily be the case for your dog - but statistically, beef is more frequently a problem than lamb is.
Personally, I'd probably try the fish/sweet potato formula from Natural Balance first - just because it is formulated for allergies, has few ingredients, and most importantly, you know you can get it. Since it doesn't have grains, it's also likely to be a better bet than a lamb/rice kibble. And if it happens to suit Oscar well, then at least you've got something that he can safely eat while you investigate other possibilities :)

Hi,
Maki is also allergic to poultry. We have gone through a lot of different food sources from RAW diet to practically every high grade kibble. It's either he turns his nose to the food or he's allergic to the ones that he likes. We've been feeding Maki Wellness fish and sweet potatoe. We also add cooked beef and add supplements to all his meals. He's been on this formula for over 3 months and is doing very well. No allergic reactions anymore.

I'm glad to hear Maki seems to have found a good diet. Although my two don't have allergies...they are on Wellness lamb kibble we are very pleased with this diet.
Jordy...are you able to find Wellness there? I know they have a kibble with fish and also lamb. I know how frustrating this must be for you finding a food that agrees with your pup. Keep us posted. Carolyn

I had fed Madison the Wellness fish canned food (he can't eat kibble because of his esophageal problems). He loved it & did well, except he had to take medication so he would not get constipated. I now feed Nature's Recipe (wheat free, easy to digest) chicken & found that Madison no longer has the problem with constipation or some of the other allery problems he previously had. I had long thought he was allergic to wheat, so this just confirmed what I already suspected. Best of luck straightening things out for your dog.
