just wishing you all a safe and happy fourth of july ! we will be staying home with the dogs. our gsd panics badly everyyear, so we have to stay home and keep him reassured that nothings going to harm him. lol .this with be rocky and annies first experience with the noise also. so they will be next to us watching a movie safe at home. although a few years ago, i was watching the sky from my porch and a bottle rocket landed on my neighbors house. they were not home. i thought that it would burn itself out but it had been really hot and dry and it just kept burning. i had to climb on the porch rail and hose their roof down. since then i have felt better just being home and keeping an eye on things. so have a wonderful fourth and be careful of the careless ones that are shooting stuff off in all directions. i go out and water my house and yard down as it starts to get dark, just to be on the safe side. lol

Happy 4th of July!!!! We too will be at home with all of our animals. I am sure that they will be a whole lot of barking going on. Lenny already doesn't like the fireworks that have been going off in our area.

Hope everyone enjoys a safe holiday. We also stay home....the fireworks don't bother Abby and Ferris but we aren't close enough to really hear them that much. Nonetheless....there's no place like home w/ the bullies. :D
They are my fireworks! ;) Carolyn

Happy 4th of July!
Adora and Beckham will be resting at home with my husband after being dosed with "Comfort Calm" tablets and enjoying a very loud showing of Lord of The Rings - which covers up the firework sounds perfectly.
Meagan (my foster daughter) and I are going to our small community lake to enjoy the fireworks :)
Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.

Last year was the first time I was home for the 4th in a long time.We went down to the river and watched the Macy's fireworks.Very nice. After the first 15 minutes or so; they all started to look the same..
Dari is not afraid of noise. When she was a pup, I took her in the subway and THAT is noisey. So, some fireworks are nothing to her.
But the crowds were VERY large and starting to get unruly. So instead of staying till the end (about 45 minutes) we left at about 30 minutes. We live about 5 minutes. Actually we stood right near the dogpark (which is right on the river).
Today ,we are going to Long Island for a bbq...
I wish all of you ; including our neighbors to the north ; a safe and happy day.
Eat allot and have a wonderful time
Remember:friends are the family you choose.

We too are staying home. Our dogs don't mind. I have to see how Eve reacts though. Her first 4th of july. My folks house is right across the street and we watch the local fireworks show from their deck. You can see them clear as day. :D
