We have raised so many puppies through the years and I was thinking today of all of the things that they happily destroyed.
FERRIS: Chewed up only ONE of my nice work shoes. Too bad, because they were really comfortable shoes! Also recently chewed on the legs of my 200 yr old antique diningroom table. ABBY: had a fascination with my slippers and destroyed a few of those. Other than that she has never been much of a chewer. RIPLEY and his brother MAURICE (St Poodles): Jim had a special order for some very rare model cars. We were not at home at the time of delivery so the man threw the package over our fence. Jim found various parts all over the yard. Maurice was in the habit of chewing and eating plastic dog toys. This habit once put him in the hospital. BEANIE (Boston): She chewed up two entire beds...I came home to find a sea of foam in the kitchen. JILL (Boston): She was an angel and never chewed anything :)
I read some articles recently on the internet about what things doggies have destroyed/eaten. It is amazing and I consider myself lucky that they have never eaten anything really terrible..like rodent bait, etc. I suppose the worse was Ferris chewing on my table :( I keep a close eye on this little guy. His latest "addiction" is with magnolia flower pods which he sneaks into the house when given a chance. They don't appear to be toxic but make a really big mess when he chews them up on the carpet.
