I just got a male Frenchie. Although I hear having him neutered helps, I'm concerned about him marking his territory. Has anyone had problems with this? Any advice on how to ensure this doesn't become a habit? Thanks!

well.... I think my puppy Napoleon has claimed my slippers as part of his territory one or twice.... true to his namesake.... he insists on expanding his empire, the little tyrant. :p

Just be diligent about the potty training! My Ferris has never marked in the house. Ok...I take that back....ONE time he pooped in my slipper! :( It was awful...cause I didn't notice til I put my foot in. :( :(

BUT....he has never peed in the house. He was neutered when he was around 7-8 months old. Carolyn

Definately neuter as soon as he starts lifting his leg to urinate, if not before then. (likely around 6 months old)
