good heavens wee weeing on the couch! what is this all about?

Hi everyone--

The most random thing happened yesterday evening. The second I went into another room, my little snoring princess wee weed on the couch. on..the...couch... :eek: I was in such shock I was speechless. We had just been out for a walk and she was successful in her potty efforts outside so I'm pretty much flabergasted. This happened once before the first week after I rescued her (I have had her for about 2 months now) but our couch has been pee free since then. While she definitely is not eligble yet to receive her potty training badge of success, this incident seems so unlike her. In addition, she has been making the habit of going #1 and #2 in her crate every so often this past week-- after she has been in there for only two or three hours during the work day. :confused:

I walk her all the time and have her in a routine. She's been spunky and nothing else seems to be out of the ordinary. Any thoughts on why this recent development of behavior is hugely appreciated.

You may have her checked out for a UTI - in my experience, when they start peeing in a new (and usually novel) place this was the cause. Although, Miss Adora peed on the bed once or twice when she was about 3 months old just because she couldn't jump off the bed in time :rolleyes:

I definitely agree that it sounds like leaking or a UTI. But just in case it isn't, I will add that we briefly had a similar problem with Winston and finally discovered that when he didn't want to go outside (too cold out, after his bath) he thought we wouldn't mind if he peed on "his" stuff - his crate pad, his bed, his spot on the couch. He seemed genuinely surprised that we had such an expansive notion of our property rights, but he didn't do it again.
