Hi all! I have just given Molly her first bullystick and I have a question for you...it is getting "gummy" and whitish frothy looking as she chews and she is swallowing this. Is this okay? I hope so, because she is loving it!!!
Thanks,
Paula

paula, that is exactly what happens to oscar's bullystick. i think this is normal and ok if they swallow small pieces of it. just like with anything else, you don't want it to build up to where they are swallowing huge chunks but, small pieces should be ok :)

Paula,
I am SOOO glad Molly is enjoying her Bullystick appicon .I love that all the pups are sitting home and chomping away; EXCEPT for Abby and Ferris :(
Poor Abby and Ferris;I hope the Bullystick elf (what else would you call the magic being that brings a bullystick :p ) can sneak by Carolyn and bring these 2 poor neglected dogs this wonderful chew treat.... ;)

Poor Abby and Ferris?  You are talking about two dogs who have fresh roasted lamb (cooked by their mean mom) mixed into their Wellness kibble! :D
When I read "gummy" and whitish frothy" ....my stomach turns flip flops.
Keep working on me, Fran. Ferris and Abby are on YOUR side.

Eww...yeah, the whitish gross stuff makes me gag a little
But seeing Adora's sweet little face full of joy as she works on her favorite treat make it all okay...
If only Abbey and Farris were allowed to have such a delicious snack...

lol. too funny. carolyn, if it helps, the whitish gross stuff DOES go away once the bullystick has dried :) i just put it out of my sight after oscar is done chewing on it, and try to ignore how gross it is! :D
something even grosser, i fed oscar a turkey neck the other day, and i broke it in half because i didn't want to feed him the whole thing. well, i won't even tell you how difficult that was or the gross stuff that happened. let's just say that the bullysticks occupy him for longer, and aren't as gross :)

Sharon - thanks for all your kind words...we just love her so much! Oscar is a real cutiepie too!
Molly is registered as white/fawn pied. In person the markings on her face and tail are lighter than in her pictures.
I just ordered some more braided bullysticks last night. I cannot believe how crazy she goes over these things!

My friends...Sharon, Fran and others....OK!!!! I promise I will get two of these things this upcoming weekend and see how it goes. :o I always thought that I would never put anything into Abby and Ferris' mouth that I wouldn't be willing to try myself........but suppose there are exceptions to my rule. I will simply order JIM to pick the slimey things up to let them "dry out". YUCK. Carolyn

Carolyn,
Slimy bully sticks are a perfect task to be handled with the plastic bag approach. If you don't touch them with actual skin, it doesn't count as touching them, so you're safe!

They are long, so I like to cut them in half. I tried to simplify the task by using my electric circular saw and the Bullystick started smoking - it was the most gut wrenching smell I have ever smelt. (Nothing like the smell of a burning MBP) - yikes, I thought I was going to puke!

OMG! My computer might never be the same after having been sprayed with soda from laughing at the buzz-saw comment.
Yuck! But totally hilarious
I'll be laughing about that one all day...
