Hey Everyone ....
My name is Lisa ...(middle name actually).
I will be a first time proud Frenchie owner in early June this year!
The love of my life, my male english bulldog passed away several months ago. Needless to say, my husband and I have been devestated ever since. We had planned on adding a frenchie to our family very soon so I we decided to go ahead with getting our new baby...(still don't know if it will be a boy or a girl, depends on the personaility).
This is a really great community you've got going here and I've enjoyed reading your posts and looking at all the pictures.
Glad to be part of the group! appicon

Hi Lisa, welcome :)
I am sorry to hear about your loss. I saw an English bulldog today and he was running pretty fast, which is amazing considering his weight.
A little more than a month to wait and you will have fun with your new puppy!

Welcome to the group Lisa!
I'm sorry to hear about your English Bulldog's passing. Hopefully having a new puppy in the house will take away some of the sadness. Frenchies are wonderful at cheering you up :)
I have a 6 month old dark brindle Frenchie girl named Adora & a 1 yr old APBT mix boy named Beckham. Their best friend is an English Bulldog named Sherman - he's 70 lbs of hyperactive fun

Hi Olly... thank you for your warm welcome and your sympathies.... :)
No kidding about the running ....let me tell you ...our guy was like a 70lb sprinter! For the first 50 feet, no dog could touch him... but after that, he'd just screech to a hault and then flop! He was the KING.
Yes, we're excited about our new munchkin coming ... will be sure to post pictures and the like.

Hello Liza, welcome :) One of Dot's best friends here in the neighborhood was an English Bulldog http://80.126.213.52/~roos/dotkom/images/movie/sarah_dot.mov (you need quicktime to see the photos) . She stayed over here once in a while and Dot stayed over with them when we wanted to go away for the day. The owner moved though and we lost contact :(
Roosje

Hi adora's mom ......thank you so much for the welcome and thanks for your symapthies ........ I do find the anticipation of a new puppy is helping me cope with the loss of my boy - and you're right...just looking a frenchies puts a smile on my face .... :)
"Sherman" - what a great name - HILLARIOUS.... and oh yes, I bet he comes barrelling in "CHARGE!!!!" just like my guy did with head butts and wresting moves that only another English or a Frenchie could apppreciate. I just love it when they play!
My guy's best friend was a golden... she 's a therapy dog and he used to just pounce all over her. But it was great , when she'd had enough, she'd "put him down" as if to say .."Ok buddy, I've had enough, I'm the boss around her don't you forget it"!
Begrudgingly, he's leave her alone ......2 seconds later, they'd be at it again!
How does Sherman get on with your dogs?

How funny that the Golden would boss the bulldog - good for her! appicon
Sherman and my dogs get along famously. We met Sherman (and his mom) at the dog park about 10 months ago when I only had Beckham. Beckham & Sherman LOVED wrestling each other and went at it for about 2 hours. The next time we went to the park Sherman was already there and when he & Becks saw each other through the gate they both started whining and running towards each other like long lost best friends
There's a pic of my 2 ganging up on Sherman on Beck's ******* page: http://www.************/?36888
It's kind of blurry - but they are maniacs when they're together! Sherman is also an honorary member of our Frenchie ****** group because he loves playing with them so much.

Welcome, Lisa! I am sorry to hear of your loss. We recently lost our beloved Piglet...14 yr old Boston who was in slow kidney failure....you can see a picture of her here that was taken a couple of weeks before we had to euthanize her. She was my husbands "baby girl" and we miss her terribly.
I love English Bulls!!! I was seriously tempted to get one but went with the Frenchie mostly because I was looking for a smaller dog.
I have two FBD's....Abby is 3 1/2 and Ferris is 2. They are so wonderful...I know that you will enjoy this breed. Keep us posted! Carolyn
