Confessions of a new mommy. Here are some questions, no laughing  . What does the term pied mean? Brie loves apples, like a crazy dog. Are a few slices of these okay? Any suggestions about the snoring outside of a crate in the other room. Is baby sunblock okay on her ears and muzzle, she has gotten sunburned already? Does anyone elses white frenchie get pink in the ears and around the eyes and muzzle late at night before bed? She does this when she is really tired regardless of sun exposure. Do I sound like a new mother or what? :p Thanks, steph

Don't worry, not silly questions at all :)
Apples are fine as far as I know. Adora will eat anything though. She's the Dyson of the Frenchie kingdom! Just to add to Roosje's post about what foods are dangerous to dogs, onions and raisins are also dangerous to dogs. If you go to the ASPCA website they have a really informative section about things that are toxic to animals (food, chemicals & plants, etc.).
You'll probably get used to the snoring, I think it's part of the Frenchie charm ;)
The only thing is that if the snoring is really loud or happens when she's awake then your pup might have an elongated soft palate. How bad is the noise?

If you sit in front of Dari with an apple; she will have bubbles of saliva come out of her mouth!Apples are her alltime favorite food. They are ok, in moderation.
Pied is a term that describes a color pattern. White with a brindle . The brindle can be a black brindle, red brindle or creme etc. But it must be (according to standard) brindle. meaning that the color must not be solid. So if you have a red pied , the red must have brown ,beige and black hairs in it.

The only thing I'd add about apples is that technically the seeds are toxic to dogs (that's also the case with the pits in things like peaches and apricots). It isn't usually a problem, since the amount ingested is so low. But if your dog does have any problems with apples, you might find things are better if you remove the core ;)
Sunblock is definitely a good idea - dogs suffer from sunburn just the same way people do, and can develop skin cancer as a result. Baby sunblock is generally safe, or you can buy one made specifically for pet - and buy it in stick form if you can find that - less chance of the dog licking it off in that case. There's more info. on what sort of sunblock to choose at http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=0&articleid=1118

Biggie is pied:-) he is considered black/brindle pied. feel free to check him out in his gallery:-) he also likes apples and loves frozen peaches!! snoring, hmmm the only thing that stops biggie is to slightly re-adjust him..usually this stops the snoring....at least for a little bit:-) the pinkness: biggie gets really pink when he gets too hot or too tired usually from play or a real hot day.

briedog...you do sound like a new mother but, that is good. it means you love your doggy :) you can just see how many questions i have posted on this site, and i have only had oscar for two months. he is all white, and yes, use sunscreen. i got a spray one that is specially formulated for dogs. we just cover his eyes and spray away whenever we are going to be in sun. also, his ears and head do look more pink sometimes like you were saying. i don't know if it is sun, or if he is tired, or hot or what but, i think it is just that we see these changes because they are white. i think it is normal. my face gets pink sometimes too :) maybe they are embarrassed
