An embarassing question

Does anyone else's Frenchie have a problem um...cleaning themselves?

I don't think Adora can even bend at the waist to clean her undercarriage.
I've been cleaning her up - but...gross! I'd love to know if I'm alone. :o

When Dari was a pup, one day she started to scoot. I thought it was anal glands;NOPE. She had vulvitas; her vulva were inflamed because she could not reach back to clean.

Frenchies are just not built to do certain things;like hygeine. So go get unscented babywipes and once a day ,clean her..

We live and learn.

I have been using the unscented baby wipes but didn't know if it was an Adora's specific problem, or if most Frenchies had that issue.

Adora would die of embarassment if she knew I had asked anyone about it! :lol:

too funny! i have to do the same with oscar. we got some baby wipes too. this is a little gross but, i have to wipe his backside sometimes after he goes. you should see me, out on the street in the middle of a walk, trying to wipe his butt discretely. people must think i am crazy. my boyfriend had to do it the other day, and he was like..."sharon, never did i think i would be..." ah, the joys of owning a dog :lol:

How funny...Sharon, I can't believe you got your boyfriend to do it! He must be quite a man. I can't even get my husband to walk Adora because she has a pink collar & leash!

I consider myself pretty dog-telligent having shared my home (and bed) with many different canine friends, but these Frenchies are a different lot. Brie does the scooting thing too, we here call it the butt scooting boggie. I had read what I could find on the breed when we were given her as a rescue but I have not seen anything about the scoot. Thank you sooo much for the info. I am out tomorrow to get the wipes. My poor little baby girl. Too bad she cant just tell me all these things, maybe she is just too shy.

We too had to clean our male English... These guys, both english and french - their shoulders are too wide to allow for reaching their "Nether regions"! :lol:

Our english was so, pardon the pun, ANAL about having his bum cleaned everyday that he'd "back into you" ...He absolutly LOVED getting a cleaning 2-3 times a day . Baby wifes were the best with some Septro soap...

Gross, but we also had to clean his "willie". It's easy though, just slide the skin back and very gentlt wipe with a damp cloth with some warm water (NO scent or soap though).

If you keep on top of it you should be problem free.

i do the same thing for my two, and i use the baby wipes. somethings they just need a little help with. they just dont have the right build to be "self cleaning" . ;)

hee hee. definitely a funny post! manja often needs his bum wiped too! Its very embarrassing and I try to do it where no one can see.... but I think its even more embarassing walking around with a dog with a daggy bum!!!

I wish! She's still fascinated with boys peeing. Couldn't give a rats behind about girls...pervert!!!

I'll have to try to snap a pic while she's doing it. She's a real piece of work. Usually I'm frantically trying to get her away from the stream heading towards her forehead! LOL
