for those of you who are interested, i am just going to give a quick update on oscar. because of all of the advice on this forum, things are going well and i would just like to thank everyone who has responded to my many questions. you guys have been a great help (not to say i won't be back with more questions...hehe)

anyway, on the barking and whining issue which i was struggling with. DONE. oscar has calmed down, sleeps through the night, and doesn't bark anymore when i leave him alone. thanks to all your advice about ignoring his attention pleas and whines. it worked! if he even barks once or twice now, he sees that i will ignore him or i leave the room, and he stops.

as for the food/digestive issues...GREAT!!! he is now fully eating innova and seems very healthy on it. no more diarrhea. i honestly think that the vet recommended chicken and rice diet was making it worse! i don't think oscar does well with rice. as soon as i omitted it, he has done great on just innova.

leash resistance is getting better. now actually he lunges more than plops his butt down :) working on that. but, he is much better.

anyway, thanks for all the great advice on these issues appicon
i really appreciate it. hopefully someday, after going through all of this with oscar, i will be able to give as good advice as those of you like roosje, franp, martina, emd.....and so many more.

p.s. this has all be so fun, i have already started talking about getting another frenchie :) my boyfriend is making me wait a year because he is smart  hehe.

anyway, my many thanks and i hope all of you who have given the good advice are glad to see that oscar is doing well because of it :)

hope all is well with everyone elses frenchies.

Yes, taking the time and effort it what makes a great dog and owner.

In the first days I had Dari, my phone bill was SKY high. My best friend and dog mentor lives in CA ; if not for her, I do not know what I would have done

So we share.Congratulations on getting past the first few overwhelming days..
It does get much easier.

Kiss that pup for me.
