Hi All,

I have a problem with my pup.... she sometimes "cleans up after herself" if you know what I mean.

I feed her twice a day - once in the morning and once in the evening. She's about 5KGs now... 5 1/2 months old... The Vet tells me it's not harmful but still, it's disgusting..!! It doesn't always happen but still...

What causes this and how do I remedy it?

Thanks!

Dot did it also, happily she does not do it anymore, but sometimes the poop of other dogs she (and Mo) will find quite tasty

I feel your pain! Adora has the same nasty habit. GROSS!!!!!

There are some remedies for it that do work though - Deter brand Coprophagia Tablets (which I use on Adora) and For-Bid (granules) which are the two main mass produced treatments. But, I'm not sure you can find them where you are!

I have read to put meat tenderizer in their food or "booby trap" their poop with hot sauce.

Most people say that it's a puppy thing and they will grow out of it. They are likely just doing it because they're bored or simply like the taste (I'm gagging just thinking about it).

What a delightful post! Abby and Ferris never did eat their own poop, thank goodness. I did catch Abby muching happily on rabbit droppings a couple of times. I don't like having rabbits in the yard (they carry ticks)...so when I see them I just let the two bullies out and the chase is on. The rabbits have learned to stay away. Carolyn

I agree - this is a really funny post ! My two don't eat poop either - knock on wood! But today I did catch Gigi intently watching and smelling Lola's behind as it "came out," but am glad to report that after it was on the ground she lost all interest. That was a funny sight after all these posts :D

Before I became a "dog person";I mean a going to dog show;being friends with breeders ; really switching to people who liked dogs as friends ;person. Some topics were verboten

Now,NOTHING including talking about POOP  at the dinner table seems to be acceptable  Oh how life has changed appicon

I meant people who liked dogs; as my friends.NOT dogs as MY friends... I do have dogs who are my friends.

As my friend Beth and I say ; there are three kinds of people; people who do not like dogs; people who have dogs because it is the "thing to do" and then people who are DOG people.

I am a DOG person :D . My friends are dog people...And talk about dogs eating poop at the dinner table . Not thier dogs eating poop at the dinner table. (This is getting silly  )

LOL! Oh the things we dog people discuss. I never thought I would be talking about poop and the eating of in a public forum...

When I only had cats I still had a shred of dignity...but it's gone now for sure.
