hi all :) hope everyone had a happy easter or just a great weekend if you don't celebrate :)

quick question. oscar is 12 weeks old. does anyone know approx. when his puppy teeth will fall out? online, i have only found very ROUGH estimates and am wondering when all of your puppies teeth came out and when the teething process began and ended. just wondering what kind of chewing fest i am in for and when it is to begin

hi, i don't think dogs teeth differ from breed to breed do they? I have a purebred newfoundland and I can give exact dates on a huge majority of his puppy teeth. I collected and kept them all along with dates and which teeth. The 2 front teeth the long ones fell out at a few day before 6 months and within 2 days of each other. The side teeth fell out at exactly 6 months. The way way back teeth one fell out at 7 months and the other fell out at 8 months. I hope this helps you out.

Penny's teeth started to fall out around 15 weeks. They were all out by about 5 months and it's hard to tell but I think most of them have grown in by now. (she's almost 7 months.) She swallowed most of them.

Adora's teeth started falling out at about 14 weeks - we found a few of them in the rug :)

It seems like she was teething from about 14-16 weeks and then it slowed down, it seems to have started up about 20 weeks and is slowing down again now that she is 22 weeks. I think she has lost all or almost all of her baby teeth. It's hard to tell - she doesn't like me to look in her mouth :D

Sometimes when Frenchies teeth, thier ears may curl. This is NOTHING to worry about. And do NOTHING about it either.
Do NOT suppliment thier diet or tape the ears. The calcium is leaching from the ears to the teeth..

People tend to worry;DON"T..Their ears will come back to the way they should be.One of the reasons pups swallow teeth is to retain the calcium.

Judy...that is too funny that you have saved the teeth!!!! I never found any from Abby and Ferris and can only assume they swallowed them.

Fran, Roosje and I always get a chuckle reading about new owners worrying about the ears curling. :p They are so cute when this happens. You worry and then one day you wake up and they are straight up! appicon

That's good to know ... Stella is 12 weeks now and she chews like crazy too ... we have been giving her these treats someone recommended to us they are good for their teeth and she loves them ... they are called Greenies it's in a shape of a bone and toothbrush!

Please look at the ingredients in Greenies; they are mostly cornstarch and other things that are really not too good for your pup..

Go to the butcher or the pet supply store and get marrow bones. try a small kong. These will give your pup the chewing it needs with out filling it up with empty calories that can upset its stomach.

Another bad thing about greenies; many dogs have almost choked to death when small pieces break off in the dog's throat and get caught..

Stay away from rawhide as well.

Thanks for the info! :) She has a puppy kong and she likes playing with that too ... she chews on chewies also ... I don't like any of the beefy stuff b/c it tends to make their breath smell!
