As long as you are sure the dry nose is not related to any illness (doesn't sound like it)...you can use ointments with vitamin A and D...but I would check w/ the vet first about ointments available for dogs. I have heard from others that vaseline works just fine. Carolyn

Their tongue can't reach the top of their nose, so I put some vasoline on her nose to keep it moist.

I use Bag Balm on Adora's nose. It's in a green tin square jar. You only have to use a tiny bit. I usually only have to put it on her for 1-2 days when her nose gets dry. I do it when she's really tired so I know she'll be asleep instead of licking it off :)

I have used Johnson's baby lotion on my newf when his nose gets dry from him sticking his nose in the snow alot in winter. It works great on cracked pads too.

Maki had a dry nose and i applied vaseline on it and his nose is perfect now. No drying or cracks. I used regular lotion before and he was agitated by the scent and flavor. He kept licking and licking trying to get it all off. He doesnt mind vaseline one bit.
