Tomorrow we are planning to go and see a 18 month old male, the thing is how will Cali react to another male in the house. Cali is 14 months and is the King of the house. I have explained to the lady on the phone that it all decides on whether Cali gets along with him or not.
Any thoughts on 2 males in the same house would be appreciated.

Thanks guys and a Happy New Year to you all.

We have 3 now, two males and one female. We started with Kermit, a huge 38 pound adopted male. Then added Luna, a younger especially tiny 13 pound female. At first Kermit was very aggressive, but after a short time they became best friends and have been ever since. Luna is agressive with our cats though, trying to chase them off when they come near us, so I was a bit worried about getting a third. So, we decided a puppy would be the way to go, so she could show him she is the boss. They were both excellent with the puppy. He started at 8 pounds and is now almost as big as Kermit.

Every now and again Kermit and Remy will have an argument, but no real fighting. I think they all just need to understand who is dominant. As long as one of your boys is dominant and one backs down it should be fine. I would just make SURE to wait a while giving them toys together or other things they could fight over. My boys are best friends but when I give them toys they fight. Usually its playful chasing and staring each other down, but now and then they scream and mouth like hippos. It makes me nervous so I just take the toy away!!! Good luck, just give it a little time. But if it turns out you have two very territorial males, it might not be the best idea.

Good luck!! :)

It didnīt go too well, it turned out that the dog is actually a BOSTON TERRIER!!!!
Not that I have anything againest them but its not the breed of dog that we really want.
So we are back on the look out.

I knew it was too good to be true.
