My 1 year old Frenchie, Jax, has been suffering from allergies almost since the day we got him. We initially thought he was allergic to grass, but after limiting exposure and trying a host of creams, baths, antibiotics, and antihistamines, he continues to flare up - with severe outbreaks every 3-4 weeks. These outbreaks consist of licking, scratching, rubbing, until the skin is raw and bleeding in some places. We've decided to try some changes in Jax's diet, hoping to ease some of his discomfort. I've been researching a few different brands, and was wondering what people's experiences have been with the following:

- Nature's Variety
- Wellness
- Canidae

These are just a few of the brands that seem to have had a positive effect for other frenchie owners. I'm curious if people have any advice on these foods - positive/negative reactions, etc.

Many thanks for your input and suggestions!

Do your self a huge favor, and have the 200 dollar allergy blood test done. It is worth every penny to give you an exact idea of what foods, and enviormental problems that stir up the allergic response. Most of the tests include a regional allergen panel for grasses, trees, ect.
The allergic response that is expressed through feet chewing ect is called ATOPHY.

Hello!
Not sure if this post is too late. We have a 2 1/2 year old frenchie with severe food allergies. We are still very much in progress with determining the causes of his allergies, but we found that doing a eliminate diet really helped us narrow down the actual ingredients our dog was allergic to -- it was tough going, but So Worth It! I am happy to chat more about strategies, etc. If you are still looking for more info. We are in NYC were there is an amazing allergy specialist who supported us through this process.
Good luck!
