I started noticing about a week ago that every now and then it sounded like Olive (5 months old) was congested, usually after play. The sound is sort of like a child that has a bunch of gunk in his/her lungs (croup, I believe it is called?). Anyway, the other night while sleeping Olive's breathing was VERY rapid so I took her to the vet yesterday. He did a physical exam and said that she has stenotic nares but that she looked healthy. He took an x-ray as a precaution and said he did see "a little something" which could be the start of bronchitis.

She is now on antibiotics. Her energy seems to be fine (she has always been low energy) as well as her eating. He did tell me that if she ever seemed to have discharge coming out of her nose to bring her in IMMEDIATELY. She always has a wet nose, but no discharge that I have noticed? Has anyone had experience with Bronchitis/Stenotic Nares? There isn't too much info on google about bronchitis, but it does have some info about stenotic nares and says that she needs surgery?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I also notice that Olive "sneezes" quite often- it's kind of if she is clearing her nose. She's done this for quite a while...is this sickness...or just stenotic nares?

There are a few threads on the forums here about stenotic nares that might help you out a bit. Here are a few of them: http://www.frenchbulldogworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3985

Very likely the sneezing may be a related issue - but equally it may just be irritation. Your vet is probably the best placed to adjudicate on that one ;)
