Hi All. I'm happy to be here with all of you and look forward to using this board to share olive's life and get useful info for her.
I will take a min to tell you about my little young'in
I just got my little girl about a month ago. She is a bundle of energy. We have an adult pug already and they seem to be getting along reasonably well. Olive (bully) seems to be obsessed with her big sis. She pretty much on a constant basis is either barking at her jumping all over her and biting/pulling at her jawls/neck. Presh, (pug) seems to tolerate her but still is a bit apprehensive when she plays back. (about 20% of the time, the rest of the time she tries to ignore her). She will occasionally gives her a "I'm the boss bite" and paws at her but it's fully within reason. She is now about 12 1/2 weeks old and is learning things very fast. Via my clicker, she now can sit, lay, and to a degree stay. She potties outside for the most part but does still have little pee accidents. I'm grateful she is picking this up quickly. She does well with the leash on walks and is very social with other dogs. I'm impressed with how smart she is. I read how lovable they are but I really don't see much affection from olive at all. She doesn't lick or pine for attention from me or my girlfriend. She will wine to get up on the couch with you but after a second or so, she is off to sniff and explore. She mostly is interested in what her big sis is doing. It's not a big deal and I'm overly happy with her but this does bother me to some degree. I'm used to being showered with affection by all the dogs I've ever had growing up and I fear olive will just be one of those dogs that rarely shows affection. I'm hoping this is a phase. I love everything about her and can't wait for her to mature with our little pack. I would just appreciate a little I love you dad now and again. When I do get a little token lick it makes me so happy its almost pathetic. I'm wondering if this is been others experience with a similar age pup and if this will continue once she starts to calm down a bit. For lack of other explanation she seems a bit ADD about playing and presh...granted she is a very young pup and only time will tell. Anyhow, looking fwd to meeting you all and posting some pics of Olive and presh.
