Hello there everyone. I want to know any tips that I should do to have my dog eat. He is a picky eater and I tried all kinds of ways out there. But still he's skinny. I had him checked by the VET and the vet said that he was ok. No problem with his kidneys or anything like that. Blood work was clear. And he's so hyperactive and a healthy dog. But he's just so hard to feed.

He weighs 25 lbs at 1 yr old. but it flactuates. Now he is about 20 lbs. then it will go up again. The only time he ate voraciously was when there was another dog around. he thought that the other dog will eat his food so he ate em fast. but that was a one time thing.

He doesn't look like a frenchie now because his ribs stick out and his back bone shows. He kinda looks like a boston terrier now.

These are the things ive done to help boost his appetite:
I give him a lot excercieses in the morning such as a morning jog and walk him a lot since I've read that he may get hungry because he's used up his energy.

I also tried the 20 minute way of putting the food down and taking it away afterwards if he has not finished it yet.

I also tried the 5 minute way.. similar to the 20 minute one. and even the 5 second one by SUSAN AILSBY. Still he's so skinny and not eating. HE does have water all day.

BTW: I am feeding him CANIDAE. I am going to try BRAVO soon because Iv'e read on here that their dog was also a finicky eater but then it was cured by giving BRAVO RAW FOOD.

Please give me anymore advice and tips. THanks.

My advice would be to try a prepared raw food (Bravo, Nature's Variety, etc.). I don't think I've ever heard of a dog turning down raw food

Also, have you tried the canned Canidae? My dogs are obsessed with it. They like it *almost* as much as they like raw.

As long as your dog is healthy (bloodwork-wise), raw is a great choice IMHO.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for that advice. Yes, I have given him the Canidae canned dog food. He'd like it for awhile but then he'd loose interest. :( I am thingking of the Innova EVO. have u guys heard of it? it says that its like RAW FOOD in a pellet form. NO CARBs etc. I will still try the Bravo and will see wat will happen.
