My name is Holt Bennett, I'm from Columbus, GA. I owned beautiful 10 year old brindle frenchie named Tuker that just passed away while I was gone this past summer out of state. He was my best friend and loved him so much. It's still hard for me to put in words as I was just told about his death 2 weeks ago(they didn't want me getting upset for leaving for work and wanted to tell me in person). I had him since he was 9 months old and was one of the coolest and smartest dogs I have ever owned. A breeder who is very close to my family and I was the one who had gave me Tuker. She just had a litter from Tukers bloodline and seen one that had the same coloring and shape has Tuker when he was a puppy so she gave me a call and asked if I wanted him because felt sad for me about the passing. I just got him today and he looks so much like my Tuker, it's amazing. The new puppy is only 9 weeks old, but already seems to like it here with me and my girlfriend. I know he won't ever replace Tuker, but I think this puppy will find his own place in my heart. I can't get enough of these amazing animals.

Picture of Tuker I have by my Computer...

So sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved Tuker. I lost my first Frenchie, Walter in '05 and was devastated. My breeder got me a puppy a few months after, whom I named Winston and in the beginning it was hard because I unfairly made comparisons. But, Winston has healed my heart, along with my pug, Raffi, whom I got one year ago.

May your new Frenchie bring as much love and joy to you as Winston and Raffi have to me.

Hi Holt - welcome to the wonderful world of frenchies {waving}

I'm so sorry to hear about Tuker, what a distinguished old boy he was. I could run off a string of clinches (time is a great healer, talk about your feelings, try to remember the good & bad, etc..) the irritating thing about cliches is that they are so true & yet so darn meaningless at the same time, aren't they?

Don't feel bad about bringing in a new pup, Tucker will want the people that he loved to start & feel more normal, he wouldn't want you to suffer. You will have your good days & bad of course, tears will come if you need to cry, there are no rules to grief & grieving.

All of us who have lost our little ones will be feeling for you right now. I lost two of my beloveded old ladies within two weeks of each other, our Hannah was 141/2, our Fern was 10 but I still wanted them for longer.

If others do not understand your grief or discount it, then pity them as they haven't known unconditional love as you obviously have.

Best wishes

Queenie & the little clowns :)
