Heath Insurance

I am considering purchasing a health insurance plan for Tug, he will be 1 year old on the 1rst of the year. Does anybody have any experience or advice here?
Just from my basic research I have tentatively narrowed my search down to 2 companies. Petplan and Trupanion. Trupanion is a new company to the US and only offers new coverage to dogs under the age of 1. Any thoughts on the subject?

Hi Crystal - I don't know if this will be much help as I am in the UK but I was with Petplan a while ago with my rotties & I have to say I was more than happy with them they paid out straight away & that's what matters. They never argued over giving me the full amounts I've claimed for. Petplan is one of the ones that our vet's most like to deal with - but there not the cheapest. As for my frenchies I set up a savings account years ago for them instead, putting money aside each week, all the money from puppy fees, stud fees is put straight in there too for all their needs.

I love your photo of Tug in the lobster outfit, I'm not a one for dressing my dogs up but he looks so cute.
