If you had the misfortune of reading my previous post about Adora's umm...fetish with getting dirty, she's subjected to frequent baths (at least 2 a week) and getting dry skin/fur. :o
What brands of shampoo & conditioners do you all use for your pups? I need something that won't dry out her skin until I can get her to kick her bad habit. Also, preferably something that does not smell like vanilla or berries as I'm not a fan.
Thanks!
:D

Oatmeal based shampoos (and there's one with baking soda) is supposed to be good for sensitive skin - it's what my two get at the groomer's. And it's doesn't smell like berries or vanilla - yuck! Mine also get conditioner. I know, I know ... but their coats do feel nice and soft :)

I've tried Johnson's baby shampoo, but it made Adora's fur dry out. I've actually found that Buddy Wash & Buddy Rinse work well on her after lots of trial & error! I just wish she'd stop getting dirty enough for a bath! There are a few people on here who only have to bathe their pups twice a year. Hopefully my gal will outgrow her obsession for getting gross!

If you have a dog with Grain allergies; be careful of Oatmeal shampoo. It can actually make the allergies WORSE!!!.
We have a wonderful homeopathic vet that works with Rescue; she brought it to our attention.
One of my friends told me that Head and Shoulders is good for Brindles.Monica uses it before a show on her two.
Since I bathe Dari so infrequently, I use Baby shampoo. And she gets a bath the same day I change the sheets. Nothing like a clean bed, AND a clean dog! :)

We have been useing 8in1 Perfect Coat Gentle Hypoallergenic shampoo on Lenny. He is doing fine with it. I give him a bath about once a week. It says that it is specially formulated for sensitive skin and it contains no perfumes or dyes.
