I am bringing Carmine to a dermatology specialist for his ear canal and polyp issue. My question is if they have to perform lazer or any kind of surgery what is a safe alternative to replace ace since I am aware that this drug is highly dangerous for frenchies. I just want to be prepared tomorrow. Thanks for all your help.

Hi there - sorry I missed you last week before you saw the specialist, what did he say about Charmine?
Thinking of both of you.
Best wishes

Hi French Queen,
Well, nothing he said surprised me since I did so much research on the internet before our appointment. He did say Carmine had small polyps in both ears. He went through all the steps to take before the most drastic which would be surgery. At the moment I am giving him synotic baytril drops for his ears for 2 weeks to see if that helps and I have to clean his ears every 4 days. Next step would be food trial to figure out what is causing infections if it is in fact a food allergy. Next step would be a very strong oral med called Cyclosporine A. Final step would be lateral ear resection. I liked him but he was not happy with the raw diet. I had told him I have been feeding him this for almost 5 years now. Some vets just don't get it and I was not about to argue with him. Fingers crossed the meds work. Thank you for your ongoing concern. Truly appreciated.
