Hi everyone
I have a quick question- My one-year old Frenchie (Marcel) spent the day at a friend today while I was at work. (he does this once a week) However today when I picked him up I noticed that his skin below his nose, and above the mouth area, was VERY pink. He is creme and has a dark mask, so it is very noticeable.
Could this be anything serious / possible allergies? Will it darken eventually and is there anything i should apply to this area? Is it potentially the floor surface he was playing on (rough carpeting)?
Thanks in advance for any comments.

I noticed something like this on my pug's nose the other day. He and my frenchie spend hours wrestling and playing (when they aren't chasing each other around the house, they are chewing on each others faces). In my case, I think it is just rubbed a little raw from playing, but if you are concerned about other issues take your fella to the vet to get him checked out.

Hey! I was glad to see what you wrote about the way your pug and frenchie play. I have a 2 1/2 year old brindle boy frenchie and just got a 4 month old pug. The two of them run back and forth and wrestle and they bite each other: faces, legs, etc. I thought it was kinda weird, but after reading what you wrote, I guess it's not! They are soo cute together.

Hi Haley - it possibly is the carpet, it sounds like he has damaged skin cells & they've lost pigmentation. If it is the carpet it will settle down pretty quick, if the skin isn't broken just leave it, just make sure in the future your friend distracts him if she sees him doing it.

Hi Haley - glad to hear Marcel's skin has settled down appicon

Carpets can cause a lot of damage to the skin, one of my boys got an nasty infection with rubbing his face on one, it took a couple of months for it to clear up.
