Well it seems that Tank has developed a rash under his arm pits. I was told by the vet that it was a bacteria infection but it looks more like hives.

We currently have him bathing in medicated shampoo, Gold Bond to stop the itch and Benadryl and anitbiotics. However, the poor little guy still itches like crazy. Is there anything else that I could try?

I saw a post below about a rash under the arm pits as well. The rash is on his belly as well.

Help!!

Is your vet sure it's a bacterial infection and not sarcoptic mange? Extreme itching, hairloss in the armpit and belly regions, and sores are highly typical. Bacterial infections can result, so *if* he hasn't been scraped for mites, it may be worthwhile having that done to be sure. Sarcoptic mange is scabies, btw, not mites which are a natural flora of the coat like the demodectic variety (it's also contagious). Some information on that here: http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=2&cat=1589&articleid=764

Well it seems that Tank is allergic to Chicken and Rice. Sigh..

We have stopped giving him chicken and rice for a couple of days now and his rash has gotten alot better already.
