When we go to the store for catfood, there are bullysticks. I let her carry one home in her mouth. She ignores EVERYTHING and walks at a very fast pace to get home and chew on that stick.You should see the looks we get from people. I tell them she went shopping..

Her alltime favorite chew.. :)

Ugh.....Fran knows how much I object to these things....even tho Abby and Ferris love them! Guess I'll have to just get over it! :lol: The only thing about them is....I have to really pay attention and get rid of them when they get small and are about to be swallowed. Fran...does Dari eat the whole thing? Carolyn

When the bullystick gets to be about 3 or 4 inches I take it away.Dari will not take a new one for a while; she only wants the remnants of the one she was chewing.
Then she finally realizes that there is a new long one right there to work on..

Carolyn, I know you hate them; but they give your dogs SOOOOO much pleasure :D So come on :rolleyes: :rolleyes: and please just give them a bullystick :p

I agree, they are quite gross - but both Adora & Beckham LOVE and I do mean LOVE them. Unfortunately for me, they are not like Dari and much prefer brand new ones, the stinkier the better! :D

As I type this, they are both chowing down - luckily down wind from me! ;)

I too think they are quite gross but biggie loves them so much...Originally they were our ok the cat is around treat..but now, he gets them all the time...i buy in bulk...
We also throw them out when they get too small Biggie does not eat the entire stick although i imagine he would love too!

Luna likes to gag herself with her Bullystick. And then it gets all white and gooey, like, within 5 minutes. It's the most disgusting thing I've ever seen, besides that one episode of Fear Factor. Once, I had to give her the doggy Heimlich cause she swallowed one whole. EW.

I just can't bear to give Isabella those things ( yeeech) but I'm afraid to give rawhide strips What else do you guys recommend. Izzy is only 4 monthes old. Nan

Just say no to rawhide!

There are quite a few good products by Merrick like Texas Toothpicks (beef? tails), Moo Tubes (trachea), Flossies (tendons dried in a spiral - cleans teeth very well!), Doggie Wishbone (achilles tendon), pig ears, Breathalicious...you name it, my dogs have tried it!

My Adora is 4 months old as well, she's going through a pig ear and Moo Tube phase right now. She can chew on them for hours and get nowhere since she has no upper or lower teeth in the front!

Most dogs really do love Bully Sticks though...you might try it and just hold your nose ;)
