This is not a Frenchie question but I know there is a wealth of dog raising experience on the board. I came here almost 2 yrs ago when my Westie was very ill and not expected to live long. I was scouting a Frenchie as my next dog
Well, my Westie is healthy and fiesty-visited the vet last week who said 'just keep doing whatever you are doing" The kidney issues have resolved; he takes medication for the Addisons and is doing awesome except he has gone deaf in the last 3-4 months. He will be 15 in the spring!
He cannot hear human speech, obviously. There are things he would want to hear so I know its not by choice. We have a fenced back yard but used to take him out front to get the mail-no more as he will just goooo and we cant call him back!
Does anyone know what type sounds he is more likely to hear? Would he possibly hear one of those dog whistles we cant hear? I can buy and try, of course, but thought maybe there was some pattern as in they lose low frequency first or last or whatever
The challenge at times is finding him in the house. I may need for him to go out before I leave on an appointment(I work out of a home office)and I dont know where he is and I cant call him either.
Any suggestions, tricks, hints, etc are greatly appreciated
