How to get rid of fleas? ( house, dog, ect. )

I found out my dog has fleas a cople days ago and was recomended to use frontline plus on him after giving him a bath in ivory dish soap. Does anyone here have any suggestions or recomendations on doing anything else to him and also what I should do as far as the house to keep them away and kill any fleas present in the house. Rugs, linens, carpets, What should i do? Please help he is getting really itchy. Thanks for the help.

Just treat him with Frontline and vacuum regularly ;) That works fine here.

I have been recomded the same by others as well as going as far as washing everything in the house rugs,linens, vaccuming, bombing and leaving house. I am very confused and very frusturated.
