What is crawling on my frenchie?

While looking at my dog for the past couple weeks i keep seeing this small black bug crawling through his coat. I cant seem to catch it, but I dont thinks its a flea , dont fleas jump? this just crawls thourgh his coat making it difficult to follow. Any suggestion? Anything I should look for on his skin? Thanks for the help.

you wont necessarily see fleas jumping. Sometimes they just crawl away really fast back under the hair. Have you seen more than one? unfortunately it probably is fleas if you have. The secret spot to check on a frenchie is under the tail (especially if its a screw tail as theres a little 'pocket' which fleas love as its warm and the dog cant scratch there). I use 'Revolution' on manja. Its a monthly drop to the back of the neck and i have found it to be really effective. Ive never seen a tick or flea on him. Its also a wormer.
