Hi everyone my frenchie seems to have a problem with bumps around his mouth. He has had them on and off since I got him a year ago and the vet gave him some antibiotics and they clear up for the most part and also gave a antibacterial shampoo. They seems to be really bad now and I was wondering if any you have any knowledge on this. I use stainless steel bowls and I wash them often, so its not due to the common problem if plastic bowls. Any suggestions would help, I am posting a link below to a picture of his current breakout.

Sounds like your dog has acne. I have heard of this; not experienced it.
Are the bowls deep? That can cause the hair to break and make them ingrown. Dari had that problem. Her bowl is metal and flatter than deeper.(Does that make sense?)

Wash Simba's face off after he eats with an unscented baby wipe; they are not harsh.

The change in diet you are contemplating may help as well.

it does seem to look like acne, one of our cats gets it..:-( just make sure you keep the area as clean as possible..did you finish all the shampoo from your vet? if not you may want to see if it helps again. we keep the shampoo around for our cat..like simba for our cat it seems to come and go but sometimes it gets bad when it does i just dab some shampoo on..could it be an allergic reaction to something? new food? new cleaning stuff on floors?
