Greetings everyone! We are new here to the forum. I wish I'd found you sooner as it has been alot of trial and error with Dudley's querks. He adopted us one day unexpectedly before we even knew what a Frenchie was!(quite a story when there is more time or interest) I look forward to learning alot and speaking with other Frenchie owners. :)

D and D: Welcome to this Frenchie friendly site! Please share your story and feel free to ask any questions that you may have. I have two Frenchies...Abby is 3 1/2 and Ferris is 2. They are perhaps the most special doggies that I have ever owned and they are the light of my life. :D

Welcome to Bulldogworld! I am "owned" by proxy (my parents) by Athlon, a cute brindle French bulldog. He's our first Frenchie :)

Welcome, welcome - but come on now ... you can't lead us on with a great intro line like that and NOT tell the story!!! When you've got a moment, Lola, Gigi (9.5mo) and I would love to know how Daryl came into your lives.

It's actually quite crazy as I look back; Darrell just showed up on my doorstep oneday, looking quite sad & pitiful. We dated for 3 years then eloped to Las Vegas in 95'.
Now as for our Frenchie DUDLEY :p : Darrell & I moved to NC from GA several years ago and it was quite an empty house other than the two of us and our 2 cats. We considered getting a dog again, but were debating the idea of SM vs LG. We'd had a Boxer and a Chow in the past that had both gone on to the Bridge. Anyway, after doing our breed research, we agreed on a Pug. We located a breeder and went to visit the kennel. Upon arriving, we were practically run over by the most adorable little brown dog I'd ever seen. The lady came out of her house to greet us, apogizing profusely, as the dog had gotten out of his pen AGAIN. She then went on to explain that he was a PAIN IN THE BUTT and wasn't fulfilling his duties. It was then she told us that he was a French Bulldog and had purchased him for a large sum of money from KY to begin her BY breeding program, but wasn't quite prepared for the costs involved or his lack of participation. Meanwhile, I could not keep my eyes off him. Needless to say, we did not purchase a pug puppy. However, I could not stop thinking about that sad-eyed, spunky, little dog. We went home and immediately began researching everything we could find on the Frenchie. The next day we called the lady back and gently persuaded her to let us have him based on her hassles with him. We picked him up two days later. He was almost 2 yrs old when got him. He was intact, had been living outside, was NOT housebroken, and obviously no manners. AND, after several baths to rid him of fleas, we discovered that he was a beautiful cream color.
It's been over two years now and although we've had to learn through trial & error, we wouldn't change a thing (OK I admit that he could have been housebroken a lot sooner than last month). Dudley now has a Boxer fursister Tosha, he is happy, neutered, microchipped, and receives monthy shots for his more than 33 allergies. We LUV our Dudley Pie!
Did I leave anything out?

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I actually found Boxerworld 1st and was lucky enough to see this link. I was a little disappointed at first because I couldn't access it. However, I'd tried again and VOILA we're here to stay. :)

D & D: your story really warms my heart! Dudley is such a lucky little guy to have found you. You rescued him from what would likely have been a world without love. Thank you for that. ;) Carolyn

This is a great great story :)
I am sorry for the inconvenience with the site when you couldn't register, I didn't know well the forum script at that time (totally new for me) and it had a wrong setting.
I am glad you finally made it :)
