Hello,
Our guy is just about 6 months old and we were planning on neutering him. Some people say that it changes their personality. Can anyone give me some opinions on this?
Thanks!,

I don't think it changes a thing. IF the dog has behavioural issues linked to testosterone, then neutering generally helps to decrease those. It can help to reduce the likelihood of other dogs being aggressive toward him also. But for the vast majority, there's simply no discernible change.

That is good to hear. Our boy, Mochi, has the greatest demeanor and I am gald to hear that he won't change..

i got my 6 month old nuetered 2 weeks ago, I was trying to see if I could detect any changes...so far nothing...his personality is exactly the way it was before. The worst part of it all..dropping them off :) good luck.

The only thing that has changed Sam's personality is his age - his "procedure" had really no effect on him. Although as he has gotten older he has become more dominant with Belzie and can resource guard high valued treats. We are working with him on it and he is coming around slowly :)

We had Louis neutered in the beginning of Feb when he reached 6 months and I am amazed how quickly he recovered and how little he has changed - if at all. I actually think he's cheekier now than he was before! :p
I was worried all day whilst he was at the vets but for no need - he was a bit sleepy when I got back from work but was back to his usual self in literally a couple of days and the biggest challenge was trying to stop him from being so active - i.e. running around like a madman and jumping up on the sofa!
Good luck - I hope all goes well.
