Hello :) I'm a 20 year old art (painting major) student at WVU. I live in Morgantown, WV. I have an 8 year old cat (orange and white, longhair) and a few fish.
I'm hoping to get a French bulldog within a few years. I thought this might be a good place to learn more about getting one. If anyone knows of any reputable breeders in my area I'd love to know about them.

Welcome-I too am a FUTURE frenchie owner

We cannot use names of breeders on the boards-there are general hints and guidelines and interesting discussions but a specific breeder wont be legitimately recommended here

Still, lots of info and pictures. I have certainly picked up a few great names as well :)

Thanks for the welcome. :)
I'm sorry I didn't realize I wasn't allowed to ask about breeders. I wont do it again. I cannot locate a French bully club in my area so far. I will have to keep looking.

Hi - Welcome to the boardappicon . I read loads of information on this board before we got Louis, it is a great source of information on frenchie health, behaviour and also a great place just to have a chat. There are so many experienced people on the board who can provide you with advice and I am sure there will be someone in your area who can direct you to a frenchie club or meet group. As I am based in the UK I am no use to you on that matter, but I am sure you can find somebody out there! ;) I just googled French Bulldog Club when I was first looking and had a surf around. Excuse my ignorance, but I don't know exactly where you are in the states, let me know, perhaps I can help track down a local club on the net for you??:)

We live in Ohio near Cleveland and have an 18th month old Frenchie named Tank. It is a great breed but not one to be acquired without a lot of thought and information. I know this website will provide that help to you. We have a friend in Vienna, WV who has 4 Frenchies. She had said there aren't a lot she knows of in her area. (Of course, with 4 you have your own group.)

Good Luck

One good way to find breeders in your area is to visit dog shows. The breeders will often take the time to talk to you and you can meet their dogs. This is a good first step; it can really help you to get to know who is in your area and what they value. I have also found that the Frenchie world is relatively small; most of the reputable breeders know one another or at least each others' dogs.
