Hello from NC

Hello to everyone! I currently own two Boxers, Chico (1 year old) and Bella (6 months old). I am looking in to getting either a french bulldog or an english bulldog to add to the family. I am hoping to get some useful information here to help me decide.

I know you will find a wealth of information on this site. Frenchies are incredible dogs, as soon as people get one, they start wondering when they can get a second one :D (we only have one for the record, at least for now.....)

Probably the most important info on the site is about their health and taking care of them, as well as finding a reputable breeder to buy from. We took everyone's advice on the board (franp was especially helpful) and went to a dog show to find a reputable breeder.

Good luck with your research. I like Boxers but we decided their are too high energy at this point in lives. We wanted a couch potato and Tank, our 19 month old red male Frenchie, fit in fine with us.
Do your Boxers like small dogs? Tank likes big dogs but they tend to ignore dogs as short as Frenchies. We 'party' with English Bulldogs. The females tend to like Frenchies but the males seem to only play with other big dogs.
Frenchies are nice in that they don't slobber like English Bulls but if you have Boxers you might not notice that too much.

Do Boxers and Frenchies make a good combination? Just ask Dari ,whose BFF is Curtis Boxer:) an 80 pound male.. They LOVE each other...

Many Boxer breeders also have Frenchies...they say they have the Frenchies to keep the Boxers in line:D


There is a wealth of information on here...our breed is under attack by very slick 'less than scrupulous people.. we need to be extra careful in the search for a pup...

Welcome neighbor! We have both a boxer and frenchie. They get along wonderfully except for the occasional scuffle over a treat.:mad: It's fun to watch them play because Dudley (our frenchie) thinks he is the bigger of the two; Tosha (our Boxer) although highly excitable, is a big baby whereas Dudley is more independent. Keep in mind that their health problems can be similar in regards to breathing and allergies. And, if you are considering a frenchie, please inquire of a reputable breeder.:)
