We've been working with our vet for several months due to the frequent inner ear infections our Frenchie has had. We are about to start a special diet with her that would involve only being able to eat foods that she's never eaten before (exotic foods). I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this or has any input. I'm willing to try anything for her at this point and apparently food allergies cause ear infections (strange but true).

I am so sorry to hear your pup is having problems. :( I am not familiar with a diet approach but looked on the internet and saw that some vets are looking at diet as a possible aid. I hope this is so. Please let us know how this works out, as it would be good information to share with us. Good luck and I wish you well....Carolyn

Sorry to hear fo your dogs problems. Please keep us posted on this diet & on your progress. My dog has had lots of ear infections so I know what a challenge this is. He seems to be doing better lately & maybe his diet is part of the reason. But I just changed the foods he ate to try & minimize some other issues he was having & really did not know there was a special diet for helping ear infections. Good luck to your dog.

My Frenchie is 10 months old and has had a bacterial ear infection problem, as well as small bumps on her skin. The vet believes it is due to a food alergy. We are starting on a hypoalergenic food diet this week. There are several different diets available. In speaking with the vet and doing some research it seems that food alergies can cause the ear infections, as well as the skin problems. Hopefully this diet is going to work. I woudl appreciate any new information anyone has about food alergies or hypoalergenic diets.
