3 weeks ago, Cola had a surgery to remove a lump found at the entrance of his right ear. He was on antibiotics and antifungal medicine call ketoconazole. His skin still feels bumpy and I see no great improvement after all the medicines. The rashes he has is dry and flaky and its peeling in a circular manner..and hairless in the area. Just now, he was scratching till it bled :(
The weather is bad with Pollution Standard Index reaching unhealthy levels of above 100 for days from the Indonesian forest fire. I wonder if that has anything to do with his current condition.
We are bringing him back to the vet on Monday to have a review. I'm so worried...

I had some experiences like that not so severe though. When you take Cola to the vet have them do a skin scraping. You want to rule out any kind of skin parasites. If it is just from the antibiotics i.e. meds. You can try Omega 3,6,9 and Vit E. Supplements. My Girl Rella is pron to dry skin. Along with her allergies. But with these supplements haven't had to many outbreaks. You can also use flax seed which is a great supplement as well. Good luck with everything. And Try not to worry. It will make you crazy believe me I know. Thinking of you & Cola "Get well soon"

Just thought of updating Cola's condition. We brought him to the vet on Monday. His lab report is out. Vet said the cells is not cancerous but it seems that the ear gland is overly active resulting in swelling of the ear canal and infection. He seems worried and commented that it may turn cancerous in time to come and he is surprised Cola get this at such a young age. He had an operation only 3 weeks ago to remove the lump..just a few days ago, I could smell a sour smell from that ear and the ear felt thickened already! And I've been dropping the ear drops & cleaning his ears twice a day!
Vet gave us 1 month supply of antibiotics, steriods, antifungal and ear drops. We got to go back 1 month later for review. If oral does not help, he might suggest to close his ear canal surgically. Oh gosh, my poor boy..:(
