I am so close to getting a Frenchie. I have had Boxers for over 30 years and plan on always having a Boxer or two, but so many of my Boxer friends also have these little characters, that I have decided to make a new addition to my household. I have located a great breeder and now am waiting. Hopefully, it won't be too long a wait.

What an adorable little breed. Must be something about that little face. ;)

I live on the dry side of Washington State in the USA and am also quite active on Boxerworld, which is how I found this site.

:)

Hi

I really hope you enjoy this forum. I wish I had found this forum before we got our first frenchie. It has been an invaluable resource and support system :)

BTW I was wondering where the "dry side" of Washington State is? - We live just across the border in BC and I have never hear that expression :)

Oh and what are you getting, boy/girl? Brindle/pied/fawn/cream? Just to warn you Frenchies are addictive - many of us have moments of weakness and end up with two or more ;) :D

To borrow a phrase from Carolyn, another member, "It's the Frenchie charm." Welcome to you and yes they are characters. My pup a brindle male keeps my husband and me laughing and entertained for hours. They are wonderful dogs. I hope your wait for your new addition won't be too long, and of course it is a must lots of pictures please.

Hi Cheryl, good to see you on Bulldogworld as well :) I'm sure this forum will benefit from your experience and words of wisdom every bit as much as Boxerworld does.

Hi Cheryl,

I'm a slave to Japanese Chin and will always have one or three of them running around, but I had to have a Frenchie too! Yes, it must be something about the face or maybe the fact that my figure is so similar to theirs, ahem, lol.

My brindle girl is still with the breeder for a few more weeks. How far are you in the waiting process?

Welcome!

Hi Cheryl and welcome to the forum :) . I had 2 Boxers before I had my Frenchie and I will love that breed forever. Phoebe, my Frenchie, reminds me a lot of my Boxers and I think that the 2 breeds will go together very well.

Thank You everyone,

I am excited about a new puppy, but I will have to be patient. It will probably be five months to a year before the right one is here. I don't even have a color in mind. I do like the dark brindle look, but won't be picky. I am planning on a little girl, but who knows. ;)

The "dry" side of Washington State is east of the Cascade Mountains. Most of the rain and drizzle stops at the mountains. Down in the southest part of the state, it is desert. If we don't water it, it is brown.

Thanks again everyone. :)

Cheryl,

From what I've heard and experienced myself, there seems to be some sort of "reverse whammy" when searching for a Frenchie.

I wanted a cream or honeypied, no love for the brindle here.
We've always had female dogs, but I had a boy name picked out.

Ultimately, it was a brindle female that hit me with her cupid's arrow.

So, if you're looking for a brindle girl, you might just end up with MY cream male!

Hi Cheryl and welcome! When I was looking for my first Frenchie I really wasn't thinking about color much. I understood from months of researching that likely I was going to get what was available. Abby is "brindle/white" on her AKC papers but she really is black/white and I fell head over heels when I first laid eyes on her. (Frenchie MAGIC, Lana  ) When we were looking for our male...my husband was hoping for a BMF but I had grown partial to brindles. Turned out Ferris was the only male available and he is brindle.

We all love what we get.
