When is a Frenchie overweight? Not having owned one before, I don't know what healthy (and fat) is supposed to look like. I don't want Luna to get teased at the park! She's now almost 11 months and weighs 25.5 pounds. She is on the BARF (raw) diet, comprised of 1/2 lb of meaty chicken bones, 1/4 cup yogurt & some fruits, veggies & supplements daily. Too much?

Thanks!
Brooke.

ps. She has rolls around her collar.

Dari is a BARFer as well and weighs 22 pounds. I feed her ground chicken with bone/veggies ;turkeybone/veggies; venison; duck etc. She gets 4-5 ounces a day. Not sure how it compares to whole..
IMO it is better to keep a dog a little underwieght than over. What does your vet say about her wieght?
Do you rotate her protien source?

Thanks, guys. The vet doesn't say anything because we don't go! Maybe I'll book an appointment with a holistic vet to help lay down the ground work for a better-balanced diet. We do rotate her protein source occasionally (tuna, eggs), but found that beef, lamb and pork upset her...when you say ground, is the bone included in that? Is the 4-5 ounces everything or just the meat part?

That is bone and meat together; I use Bravo. it is premade. The proportion is 80%meat to 20%bone and Veggie.
When you say the other protien upsets her; what do you mean? Are you introducing it slowly? You must transition a different source over a couple of days the first time she gets it. perhaps that is why ?
