This morning at 10am I received an automated telephone notification that my town was under a "boil order", this meant that our drinking water was found unsafe and we were to boil the water before consuming.
After making some calls I was able to find that routine water testing had found e-coli in our water supply yesterday around noon. I have called my vet and they recommend using bottled water for the dogs but they have been drinking the tap water until I boiled it this morning.
I have gotten conflicting advice about dogs contracting e-coli but no real solid information except to give them bottled water now and watch them to see if they become sick.
Anyone have any experience with e-coli in dogs?
