Hi everyone,

Thanks for allowing me to join. I'll be getting my first Frenchie as soon as she's old enough to come home. She was just born on July 9th so I have quite a while to wait. I named her Bijou which means jewel in French because she's my little gem, lol. Oh, and she's brindle.

I've been keen on bulldogs for a couple of years, seriously did my homework for about a year but then couldn't decide between English and French. I think I made the right choice. Bijou has Japanese Chin sisters here, so I already have some experience with brachy breeds.

I bought Bijou a couple of baby blankets today, will still need a good harness, some tshirts, toys, hoodies...oh, all that good stuff!

Thanks again for having me here!

Welcome Susan and Baby Bijou (in waiting :) ) !
I hope you enjoy the Forum. There is information on here for every question you may have while raising the new 'Baby'.
I have the sweetest little miracle named 'Stella'. She is also brindle and is just about 8 1/2 months old now and weighs 22 lbs.
She and I have had many heart-to-heart talks during her puppy-hood, several which have been about the potty-breaking issue  . She will stare right into my eyes like she understands every word I say to her, it is sooo funny. But it really seems to work.:D

Hi Susan and welcome! I love the name you have picked. ;) Waiting for a puppy is a killer! I'm looking forward to more puppy stories when you bring your Bijou home. appicon

Welcome! It's great you did your homework. Raising a puppy is so much work, but even more rewarding! appicon There are some people here that can give you a lot of great advice. It's cute there is another new member with a puppy named Bouji, so close to Bijou :) They should be friends :)

Thank you everyone for the warm welcomes!

I'm sure I will have some new mommy challenges, especially in the house training area. It's been a while since I've done the outside potty training. (My Chin use puppy pads.) Donna, Stella might have to mentor Bijou! lol

Carolyn, the wait is tough but I don't mind too much. (more time to shop) It means more to me to know she's learning all the stuff she needs to know from her Momma and siblings as well as the breeder and her human kids. I'm using as much self restraint as I can to NOT be a pest, emailing every 2 hours for an update. (I'll just bug you guys instead.;) )

Kat, I'm going over the new puppy routine in my head. I just keep telling myself that the overnight potty runs will diminish overtime...and who needs sleep when you have a Frenchie. Right? I will have to find Bouji and introduce myself!

Lana, funny thing about brindles. As I was thinking about my dream frenchie, brindle never entered the picture. It was always a cream, fawn, honey pied. When I saw the puppy pictures, I kept saying, "...BUT that brindle girl is cute." Guess they pick us! I couldn't be happier. (okay, maybe a little happier when she's home)

Welcome!!! Brindle babies are great!! My male, Lenny, is brindle!!! We also have Sweetie and Baby Babette. The girls are both white and fawn. Babette is only 4 months old, so I know how hard the wait can be. I waited from the time she was 4 weeks until she was almost 12 weeks to get her.
