I recently took my dog Milo to the vet. She currently weighs 8.7lbs, and she is four months old. The vet told us that she would "max-out" at 10lbs. That does not seem right to me. All the literature that I've seen suggests that the smallest of the breed still get to be around 15-18lbs. Any thoughts, any advice? Thanks, Peter

Peter: As the owner of a small (15 lb) Frenchie. My guess is that Milo will end up at least that big. After all a lot of growing takes place between 4 months & full grown adult. Does Milo have any medical problems? That is why my little guy is so small. Is your vet familiar with Frenchies? If not then maybe this is why the guess on the low side. I would be more concerned with having a vet that knows about short faced dogs much more than I would be concerned about the guess on size.I am sure that Milo will be a fine Frenchie adult whatever the size.

She has been to the vet several times and she has a clean bill of health. The vet we use sees 4 other Frenchies, so I'm assuming that she has a good understanding of the breed. Thanks for the info!!
