i found a bump on Franky's front right leg, on the joint at the bottom of the leg... i found the bump last week, we took him the vet and they did an X-ray, they couldnt find anything so we took him again today because the surgeon was in... they want to keep him all day and do test on him...
the bump on his leg doesnt seem to bother him...
i hope it's nothing !

Hi Lino....have often wondered how your Frankie is doing. Do you know if there were able to rule out a cyst? Is the lump on a joint/bone? Please keep us posted. How big is your boy now?

no, they didnt rule out a cyst (sp?) im going to call the vet in about an hour to see what they say...
other then this 'bump' on his leg, Franky's doing great ! he's 23 .lbs and it's mostly hart :) i've never owned such a friendly loving animal before, he's happiest when he just hanging out with my wife and i, if were sitting on the couch he'll snuggle up against one of us and just stair out the window without a care in the world...
stay tuned...new pics to come !!!!!

:D :D That's GREAT news, Lino! And you did not over react.....lumps, bumps are nothing to be ignored and we all worry about them until they are checked out.

Do they have to remove it or just let it go? I ask because I just noticed a bump on Dutchie's chin. It looks like a large mosquito bite but I use Advantix which is supposed to protect them.

Glad to hear that it is not something worse but it still has to be watched.
Our Golden Retreiver had a cyst in a similar location. It grew very large very quickly and in order to keep normal movement in a 5 year old dog it had to be removed. He recovered quickly and didn't rip the bandage off too many times. However it did recur when he was 13 1/2. We had decided not to have one treated because we were concerned about anaethesia at that advanced age but he tore it open (I think he catching it on something outside) and started to bleed heavily so he had major surgery to repair the wound site (about 2 inches square).
He did fine again until he realized that the only time he was being invited into the car was to go to the vets to have the dressing changed so he began a campaign of passive resistance. If you mentioned the car, he would lay flat on the ground and not get up (and he weighed about 75 lbs). He had to be dragged (slid across a vinyl floor) and half carried to the car.
This is what caused my wife to decide that the next dog would be a small 'portable' dog and would be easy to carry. And when Barney, our Golden, crossed the Rainbox Bridge, the breed search ended with the French Bulldog.
