we've had pudge for a few months now, but when we first got him, he never barked or made any noises other than snorting and snoring. one day my wife caught him getting silly with his reflection in the mirror. we think this is the first time he had seen himself in a mirror before. so we got it on digi camera to record this Frenchie First to go in our family album.

too cute - Belzie discovered the puppy in the mirror within an hour of coming home - she got so frustrated that the puppy wouldn't play with her, and now she ignores her reflection. Congratulation on Pudge learning how to bark appicon apparently not too many frenchies can bark, so it makes Pudge a very special puppy

really? other frenchies can't bark?
pudge doesn't bark very often. he will do everything he can to get what he wants withough barking. he will snort, snuff, breathe loudly, and do this weird gurgling whine growl type thing. but when he really wants attention and everything else has failed, he will resort to a bark or two.

I hadn't heard of Frenchies not barking, weird. I guess Orson's bully friend Bebear never really barks. Orson loves to bark and has many different ones depending on what he is trying to say. He has his "alert/guard dog" low bark and his "frustrated/my toy is under the couch" bark and his "I know you put that treat up on that shelf and you really need to get it down for me" bark and his "worked up in a frenzy" bark and a few others. It took him till he was about 6 months to find his voice. He isn't a type of dog that just barks and barks cause he's bored or he hears the mailman or anything though, which is good.:)

No really it's not typical for a Frenchie to bark. They make lots of different noises, but don't always bark. When we first got Belzie I was surprised that she learned how to bark so quickly so I asked around. :)

Ellie Mae is a barker! Her big sister is a yellow lab that never stops barking, so Ellie discovered that she too likes to bark. Mostly only when she hears something outside, which is all the time. I dont mind, I got used to it with Teika (the yellow lab)

Taz has many different noises, That mean a whole bunch of stuff. He is very vocal and haven't figured out all his vocals yet. He will also make noises that don't sound anything like a frenchie or any other dog! He's quite the clown. Rella is more on the reserved side and will give a alarm bark, a little whine at confirmation classes when it time for Taz to work. Or a good strong bark for I really want that! :p My frenchies are the most amusing together! They make me smile all day long!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I swear that is Raider!!!!!!!!!! Sounds identical, looks the same, acting the same way! Not very many people have got to "see" or hear him bark, and I've had him for 10 months... Glad you got that on film! I have Raider on a video on my phone, but my stinkin service has yet to be able to send videos, nice huh!
I just had to watch my phone vidoes, to get a dose of my boy! :D
