Hi everyone.. I have a question.. Zowie's ribs seem to flare out at the end sometimes.. and stick out. Does that mean I'm not feeding her enough. But I feed her 3 meals a day. I'm feeding her Canidae after reading this forum I went to get her better food. She's going to the vet tomorrow. I just hope I'm feeding her enough... and there's nothing wrong with her..

Kindof hard to put your worries to rest without more details. Like how old is your pup, how much does she weigh and how much have you been feeding her:lol:
Good luck with the Vet Appointment. Please let us know how it goesappicon

Mia's ribs used to stick out on the ends when she was little too . She was far from underweight.Still is  As she started getting older you couldn't notice them anymore.

Thanks So MuCh for your inputs! Zowie is about.. 10 weeks now. 1/2 cup to a cup per meal. Sometimes shes not very hungry in the afternoons so I just give her half a cup. I just dont want to be under or over feeding her. And her ribs scared me. I'll definitely keep you guys posted as to how her visit to the vet went! Thanks guys!

eiffel's ribs stuck out as a pup , he is a year old, and they still do and he is healthy as a horse, and active active active!!! he can outrun and jump maks anyday, I used to worry, but my vet says he's great, different build than maks. Eats well, poops well, plays well, happy. I guess in the end that is what you are looking for.....appicon

Hudson is about 9 months and her ribs stick out to some degree also but she's a longer and leaner build - a European frenchie. I can feel her ribs and spine when I pet her. She's 15 pounds now and eats 2 1/2 cups plus 1/4 can a day  (more than Piper who's 26 pounds!) and doesn't seem to plump up all that much. She doesn't appear underweight and she doesn't act hungry all day long. She has ample energy during the day and her bms are fine. She's gained two pounds since we adopted her - headed in the right direction. So I don't worry. appicon
