My four year old has started wetting on the floor. We have a rug under our dining room table and he goes there thinking he can hide it. This morning I woke up to him barking, tried to let him out (he spends the night in his crate because he pees if he is not crated.) and he ran up on the bed. My daughter woke up so I changed her diaper and then came out and took him out. Came back in and didn't notice anything wrong. He immediately went and got a drink of water so I assumed he was just thirsty and he was barking because he wanted out to get a drink. We try to trust him at night and every time we do, he fails. This is the second time he has gone on the floor. We don't know what to do. It is to the point that we are wanting to get rid of him because of this. He is too old to be doing this. Please help! I love my dog dearly and don't want to have to get rid of him.
Thank you!!! Heather

Please take him to the vet. He may have a urinary tract infection or an illness. It could be diabetes or some kind of thyriod related illness..
The most important thing is to figure out if he is sick. Especially if this something that is not his regular behavior.
