Hello everyone.
Im so excited to have found other french bulldog lovers. I have a frenchie now. Ive had her for about nine years. She is 13 years old now. I am a veterinary student going to school at Ross University school of vet med in St. Kitts. Im originally from WI. Im thinking about doing my rotations out west because Ive never lived out there and I hear its so beautiful. OR, I might go back to Wisconsin.
I have definatly fallen in love with the french bulldog breed. I would like to find another one. Id LOVE a puppy but we cannot have dogs under one year down here on the island, so I would like to find a breeder or someone with a young female that they are selling. :( Unfortunatly, my frenchie is getting quite old and we recently found a mass in her bladder, so I think my next trip home Im going to have to say goodbye which is going to be the hardest thing Ive had to do to date.
So if anyone out there knows of someone with a young female frenchie they are selling, PLEASE let me know!! thanks so much. Its nice to be here.

Hi frenchiedoc,

It's very cool that you found this forum. Very sad that your current Frenchie is declining :( Being a Vet would and having a frenchie would go a long way to making you a wonderful candidate for a rescued Frenchie. Have you checked out the French Bulldog Rescue Network? When you return to the States you may want to keep them in mind:)

Oh here is a link to their website:

Welcome to the board! Sorry to hear about your Frenchie. What is the normal life span of a Frenchie? Are they still spunky at 13?

Thanks everyone!
I have looked at the french bulldog rescue website! I love lots of frenchies on there, but Im thinking I wont get one because I live in the caribbean right now and Im sure they wont allow that. But I will for sure be part of that organization when I move back to the states!
Jilly is going to be 14 in October and she is still spunky. Of course, she sleeps a lot and acts like an old lady, but she still greets me at the door and dances around when I come home and grabs her stuffed animals and shakes them around. I dont know if anyone elses frenchie does this, but Jilly will do a little dance before she goes number 2. She snorts around and rubs her chin on the ground and pounces at nothing. Its precious to watch.
Im excited to get another frenchie someday. I just wish I could have another one while Im down here at vet school. But good things are worth waiting for, right?
