Hi everybody :)
Just wanted to give you all au update to the Kelly and Manja story. He's about 9 months old now and doing wonderfully! I noticed that there's a few members who have just adopted there frenchie pups, and let me tell you, I thought I would never see the day when I wouldnt be constantly worrying and stressing about what manja was doing, where he was going, what he was chewing, where he was peeing
But slowly slowly he started to chill out and now he's the one who sits on the couch staring at me with this look in his eyes that says "stop moving around the house, why dont you just sit down and relax here with me!"
I do a market stall at the weekend and I had always intended that if i ever got a dog I would bring him with me to keep me company all day. But Lordy! At the beginning when he was little I wasnt able to pay any attention to my stall or my customers as manja would be constantly trying to run off somewhere or people would be going berserk when they saw him and asking if they could pick him up (nice really, but annoying after the 250th time)!
These days though, manja is the star of the markets and he never wanders out of my sight he just plays happily with the other market dogs on the grass and comes back when i call him, appicon and people ask me "wow your dog is so well behaved how come he doesnt run away?" Unbelievable huh
Anyway im starting to waffle on a bit now so Ill wrap up now. For those of you wondering what you got yourself into (because heaven knows, for the first 2 months I was!!!) sanity is returning soon ;) kelly

What a wonderful message that was Kelly! It sure does a person good to read that one day, all will be well in my house too - yay! Actually, this is the first evening that I've let the pups run around outside of the kitchen since I got them ... and of course they're going beserk (and having oh-so-much-fun!!). They keep 'holding it' longer and longer and seem to be a little less inquisitive. However, we've just passed the 3.75 mo milestone, and I'm getting worried about the 'teenage rebellion' I hear about. Both Lola and Gigi are starting to disregard the 'come' command and just sit there looking at me thinking, "whatever ..."

Again, thanks for your super great message that was sure uplifting to me!

Yay Manja!

Kelly,
Maybe 9 mos. is a key age for frenchies. My little baby Boris just stopped jumping off the bed at night to pee/poop, and he is actually holding it 1.5 hours when just running free around the house, where at like 6 mos. it was like 20 mins. MAYBE. and at 4 mos. he couldnt be in his cage for more than 2 hours at a time or he'd wet it. it was a nightmare...but now i think he's starting to come around. i think he sees his sisters not pee everywhere in sight, so he has taken their lead.
Even his temperament has mellowed a bit. He needed to recognize he wasnt Lord Boris, and I think its getting into his little head...
He's big, too. He was 22 pounds at 6 months when he got neutered. I don't even know how much he weighs now! He's built like a tank - no fat, all muscle. I walk him as much as he lets me considering he doesn't like to get hot. :-)
Congratulations! Sounds like the good part is finally there for you...
