Hi!

I'm Martina and I now own two frenchie bitch pups - Lola and Gigi. They are both about 3.5mos and, well, it's killin' me! Thank god I don't have children (human children)! The poop, the clean-up, the walking, the potty breaks - wow!

I've had Lola just over a week and (I have no idea how this happened so quickly), but we were pretty much housebroken ... really! In the two days that Gigi's been with us, all of Lola's good habits have flown out the door. Not to mention that the two are now vying for 2nd in command. I can't take them out at the same time for potty breaks and I'm trying to spend 'special' time with each girl alone. I mean, really now, how do people with children and jobs find time to add a puppy to the family?!?

They are, of course, both super-cute and precious. Lola is pied and deaf so I've been teaching her hand signals. Gigi is brindle and still pretty traumatized from her trip (she's from Russia) and I've been keeping the house quiet and trying to get her onto my schedule. Lola is really thin and energetic and couldn't be happier to have a companion. Gigi, on the other hand, is a big 'ole pudge muffin who likes to run around for a bit, but then just wants to lay in the grass and get some lovin'. Needless to say, they are asolutely adorable together.

Oh yeah, and Lola's coming down with something. Could be a summer cold, but it might be allergies. We don't think it's kennel cough and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

It took me a year of research and soul-searching to finally make this commitment. They are exactly what I wanted, but, at the moment, I'm feeling overwhelmed. I've got a way to go before the housebreaking is completed and they've gone through their teething. Until then, I'll just live for those moments when they both crawl up in my lap and cover my face in wet doggie kisses!!

I'm sure you'll be hearing more from me - especially questions! Till then ...

hi martina
wow! I cant imagine what it would be like to have 2  You are going to get some good practice at multi tasking. They both sound gorgeous and it would be great to see a photo.

I have, of course, been following the tale of Roosje, Dot + Mo and Kelly + Manja for several weeks now. So I may be new to ya'll, but it's high time I became a forum member and started posting on my own - now that I actually have dogs!

We did really well with the potty training today - only one poopy accident in the house - yay!! Gigi is finally understanding potty-time as opposed to outside playtime (for today, at least).

I haven't been stopping the girls from their bickering because I know that dogs have to establish a pecking order, and, for the first time tonight, I just saw them curled up together sleeping. Too, too cute! That's what I want to take a photo of! Now I need someone to decode the dog non-verbal stuff so I know who won.

I will get a photo soon 'cause lord knows I love looking at everyone else's bundles of joy!

Hi Martina! I met you on Roosje's other site. These bullies can really be a challenge when it comes to potty training! I cannot imagine having two pups at once but at least you will get it over with at the same time. My Abby was difficult to train but mostly because my husband and I both work. I think she finally "got it" when she was nearly a year. Then we got Ferris two years later and I had to go through the same process. :( I think Ferris was actually easier to train but I was more determined with him....and also weary of getting the carpets cleaned!

Hello! Nice to meet you. I have a 6 mo male frenchie, and I believe we got our pups from the same breeder(your pic looks familiar) did you get her from Olga Vilmis? That is who Ivan is from.

did you get her from Olga Vilmis?

Yup! Gigi is from Olga and is about to turn 5mo. She has been a handful -- but that probably has more to do with my never having raised a puppy before than Gigi being overly troublesome ;) ! She is so sweet, but barks waaaay more than Lola. I read all of these books that said FBs hardly ever bark - HA! Or, should I say 'ARF!' My two are ready barkers. Lola only barks once when she's surprised, but Gigi can just let loose with barking if she's nervous or afraid. They both adore children, people and other dogs ... but they still crawl into my lap at the end of the day and melt my heart!

My dealing with Olga was very easy. She's totally Russian (in a 'ha,ha, that's so Russian' sort of way), but wonderfully adept and loves her dogs. I had a GREAT experience with her.
