So, I tried Aki on Bravo yesterday. In the morning I fed him kibble around 8am, then I went out and bought the Bravo. I fed him about 3oz and 3:30pm and another 4oz around 8:30pm. Since, his stool was hard and nothing seemed wrong with him between 3:30pm and 8:30pm, so I gave him some more. At 3:30am, he threw up. It was not a small amount. I also gave Aki a rib bone to chew on yesterday, was it maybe too much bone for him? I gave him 4oz of bravo this morning and once again he was fine, and his stool was hard. I have not given him anymore today and I am going to the grocery store so I can buy meat. What do you think happened? Also, his breath smells just like the bravo after he eats and it lingers all day! It smells just like the Bravo , I can't get rid of it. If anyone can think or knows a reason why he threw up, please let me know. It was awful last night. Does anyone else feed bravo who is dealing with bravo breath?

Possibly it is just taking him a little time to adjust to raw - some dogs do go through a sort of a detox period, or just take a little time to adjust their systems to a different type of food.
I wonder though, which Bravo mix did you choose? I would suggest that starting out with Bravo Basics is the best idea - since these are just meat and bone (no veggies). Vegetables are an optional part of a raw diet (whether or not they're required at all or even beneficial is a matter of debate). But vegetables are much harder for dogs to digest than meat/bone is. Moreover, when you feed a mix that includes several different vegetables and the dog has a problem - you've no way of knowing whether it was just adjustment, or a problem your dog has with a particular meat, or if it is one of the vegetables causing issues. It's better to get the dog adjusted to consuming raw meat/bones first, and then introduce mixes containing vegetables if you want to. Then at least, if there's any problem, you would at least know it was related to one of the vegetables and can experiment to narrow that down ;)

I have the same thing - Butters is eating Bravo rabbit patties and while is breath doesn't stink per se (doesn't smell revolting) it is quite unpleasant on Bravo - smells metallic and just like raw meat. Since he has allergies we haven't be able to change much and he doesn't do well with Nature's variety. I know another Frenchie owner (Clementine's mom) who switched from Nature's Variety to Bravo and had a change in breath odor for the better. My suggestion is to switch to different meats and even brands unless you have another condition like allergies limiting the switch.
